Derrick Harrison Ford
September 14, 1964 – January 16, 2021

Derrick was born in Bonavista on September 14, 1964, the third child in a family of eight children raised by the late Harrison and Elizabeth Ford. Derrick is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Estrella. He is also blessed to raise a daughter, Ada.
Siblings that mourn his passing are Gloria (Donald), Wanda (Max), Sheila (Randy), Tony (Kim), Daisy (Kevin), Marjorie (Wayne) and Joanne (Darcy) as well as a wide family of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Derrick enjoyed swimming, rock climbing, fishing and hockey. His love of berry picking and fishing was complemented by an equal talent in the kitchen as he performed magic as a cook and a baker. His talents did not end there as he enjoyed music through singing and his accordion.
We were saddened beyond measure as Derrick left our physical world on January 16, 2021. He gave everyone special memories from a personality that cannot be contained in a grave, ensuring that he will live on in conversations and in the hearts of loved ones.
Cremation took place and a memorial service, officiated by Rev. Eli Cross, took place from St. Nicholas Anglican Church. Middle Amherst Cove with inurnment following on January 20, 2021.
