Obituary of Dennis Gilbert
It is with extreme sadness that the family of Dennis Gilbert announces his sudden and unexpected death on December 22nd at the age of 56. Loving husband of Sherry (Torok) Gilbert. Cherished father of Bryan Gilbert (Stephanie) and Shannon Gilbert (Gino). Devoted and loving son of Mary and the late Camille Gilbert. Dear brother of Danny Gilbert (Michelle) and Rachel Leslie (Ken). Dennis will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Harlie, Colton and Mason. Dear son-in-law of Francine Guillemette and the late Donald “Tubby” Torok. Brother-in-law of Sandy Holmes (Darryll) and Karen Hickman (Randy). Dennis will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dennis worked at Tallman Transports for 26 years and was currently employed at John Deer. Some of Dennis’s great loves was spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren. He also loved the great outdoors, fishing, and camping.
Arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. In keeping with Dennis’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life for Dennis will be held on January 8th, 2022, at the Royal Canadian Legion on Morningstar Ave. beginning at 4 p.m. Those that attend must have proof of vaccination with valid photo I.D., wear a mask and social distance within the establishment. Inurment will take place at a later date. If desired donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
