Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Healy Hierath on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
Dennis is survived by his dearest friend Joanna Rolf. He is also survived by his son Steven and daughter Andrea; siblings Ron (Sharon) Hierath, Margie (Gerard) Gravel, Bret (Debbie) Hierath, Ramona (Randy) Michetti, Colleen (Arlyn) Herbst and all of their extended families.
He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Dora Hierath; son Jeffrey Hierath; and sisters Chloe Galts and Dawn Morgan.
Dennis was the eldest of 8 siblings. He was raised on a grain farm in the rural community of Allerston where many of his forefathers homesteaded. He was educated at Masinasin, St. Anthony’s College, Catholic Central High, and took his post secondary education at Mount Royal and the University of Montana where he obtained a degree in Journalism. Dennis then began a lengthy career in marketing in the oil and gas industry. This resulted in him living in Moosomin Saskatchewan, Toronto, Calgary, Denver and Phoenix.
Dennis returned to Milk River in 2016 where he lived out the last few years at the Prairie Rose Seniors Lodge and subsequently at the Milk River Extended Care.
Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
As per Dennis’s wishes, a Private Funeral and Interment will be held with Fr. Salvador Ahumada, officiating.
