Denise Harrison
Denise Marie (d’Eon) Harrison, age 74 of Middle
West Pubnico, died suddenly at home on June 2,
2021. Born in West Pubnico, she was the daughter of
the late Henri and Martha (d’Eon) d’Eon. Denise is
survived by her brother; Evariste (Carolyn) d’Eon,
Pinkney’s Point, her sister-in-law Helen d’Eon,
West Pubnico, as well as her many nieces and nephews and their
families. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Marcel and
brothers André and
Robert.
Denise graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing Science
from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1967 and then went on to
complete her Bachelor of Science in Biology from St Mary’s
University in 1971. During her lifetime Denise worked in a variety of
positions including laboratory technician for the Bedford Institute of
Oceanography. She also worked as a laboratory technician within the
department of Biochemistry at the Sir Charles Tupper Building at
Dalhousie University, assisting researchers at the time studying
estrogen hormones and their relationship to cancer.
The family wishes to express their sincere
gratitude and appreciation to all of Denise’s friends who
through their care, kindness and compassion allowed her to remain in
the comfort of her own home for as long as possible. They would also
like to send a heartfelt and special thank you to Clifton and Roseline
for always being there for Denise especially during her final weeks
and days.
The family would also like to acknowledge
Denise’s long-time dear friend George who has always been
there for her. Together they would often take car rides to Barrington
and stop at some of their favourite places to share a meal. Over the
years they have made many memories together.
There will be a private graveside service Monday,
June 7, 2021 at 10am in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery,
with Fr. Cyrille Assihou officiating. Due to
COVID-19 limitations, this service will be for invited guests only.
Donations in memory may be made to St. Peter’s Cemetery or
to a charity of choice. On line condolences may be

Denise enjoyed many simple things such as taking photos,
needle work, dancing, and taking drives. She was an avid writer and
anyone that knew her, knew just how faithful she was at keeping her
daily journals up to date.
