Denis Omer Leblanc (November 2, 1935 – May 29, 2021)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Denis Omer Leblanc on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the West Nipissing General Hospital while watching the Montreal Canadian game with his two sons. Denis was in his 86th year.
Denis was the beloved and devoted husband of 63 years to Avanelle “Din” (Jackson) Leblanc. He was the loving and proud father of Carole-Ann (Bruce) Bethune, Daniel (Diane), Lissa Johnson, and Michel (Jennifer) and was Pepère of Sara, Adam, Ashley and Stephanie Bethune, Nicholas (Sara) and Cassidy Leblanc, Tyler and Tanner Johnson and his two great grandchildren Ivy and Elora Leblanc.
Born in Field, Ontario on November 2, 1935, Denis was the second oldest child of the late Gérard and Eva Leblanc. Denis came from a large loving family. He was the adored brother of Germaine Leblanc-Brousseau (Marcellin), Raymond (Patricia), Simone Miron (late Rhéal), Omer (Marielle), Alice Levac (Rhéal), Rita Charpentier (Claude), Rhéo (Diane), Claire Tremblay (Colin), Thérèse Lambert (Florent), Diane Gauthier (Paul), Marcelle Lambert (Réal), and Pierre (Marie). Predeceased by his brothers Roger (late Rollande), Gérald (Monique) and Camile.
Denis was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. He was known for his kind heart, his sense of humour, and his welcoming nature, always having people over for a game of cards, a round of horseshoes, a nice meal and a cold beverage. He enjoyed his yearly Leblanc/Jackson hunting trips, spending weeks out at the trailer, going to the Golden Age Club with Din to play some shuffleboard and watching the Blue Jays and the good ole’ hockey game.
As per Denis’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, once Covid restrictions are lifted. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
