It is with heavy hearts, we announce that Delbert has gone to be with his Lord, on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Chapman House Hospice, Owen Sound, of Flesherton, just short of his 69th birthday. Beloved husband of Judith(nee McCracken) for over 48 years. Loving father of Angela(Hank)Post of Dundalk and Andrew(Stacie) of Fergus and the late Michael. Proud and adoring grandfather of Chase and Cole Post, Emily and Mitchell Linton. Dear brother of Jack(Amy Alsace), Shirley Bell all of Markdale, Claire(Sandy) of Chesley and Betty(Wayne) Willis of Owen Sound. Cherished brother in-law of Connie(Peter) Schroter of Bracebridge, Peter(Brenda Lemon) and John McCracken all of Flesherton. Predeceased by his parents Frederick and Beth Linton, infant brother Glenn, brother in-law Everett Bell and nephew David Bell.
Delbert was energetic and enjoyed life to the fullest. He made friends wherever he went.
He willingly volunteered in many community events; some of which included Split Rail Festival, Dundalk Agricultural Fair and Meals on Wheels.
He loved to travel, especially to Cuba. The last Four vacations with grandchildren were very special.
He was gifted with artistic talent and loved his flower gardens. He enjoyed music and dancing. Later in life he found his passion as a PSW; caring for seniors with Grey Gables Day Away Program and private care.
He was kind and caring, always thinking of others ahead of himself. A man of faith, he will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
The family will receive friends at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception Ltd. on Friday, October 8 from 4:00-7:00pm. Celebration of Life from the Gentle Shepherd Community Church on October 9 at 2:00pm. If you are attending either event, please RSVP on the funeral home website or by calling the office. For those who are unable to attend the funeral service, live stream will be available on the funeral home website. Interment at Flesherton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Hanley Institute, Chapman House Hospice or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
