Debra’s Obituary
Bentley, Debra “Debbie” Mae – 65, Amherst, passed away at QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax on November 11th, 2021 with her loving husband and daughter by her side. Born in Imperial, Saskatchewan, she was a daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Pettigrew) Tower. Debbie studied elementary education at NS Teachers College and taught for over 30 years, including a term as principal of Northport Elementary School. Besides her parents, she is survived by husband, Michael; daughter, Danielle (Matthew) Colpitts; grandchild, Ava Colpitts; sister, Doris (Barry) Stillman, Windsor, Ontario; brother, Darren, Amherst. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, November 16 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford. Proof of dual vaccination and government issued identification are required to attend. Donations may be made to Amherst Food Bank.

  1. Micheal ,Danielle and family, So sorry for your loss. Debbie was a colleague of mine at St. Charles school for many years and was a very dedicated teacher. We always enjoyed her company and her cooking at staff events. She will be missed by all who knew her. Fran Morley
