On Tuesday August 24th, David William Clark, loving husband to Sheryl, passed away at the age of 80
Dave was born April 29th 1941 in Vancouver British Columbia. Dave was predeceased by his parents George and Gladys Clark, his mother and father in-law Slim and Bobbie LaFond, his 3 sons Paul Clark, Craig LaFond and Carl Harrie. His sister Beverly Fry and grandson William Cardinal.
Dave grew up in Vancouver with his 3 siblings, Bev(John), Debbie(Larry) and Mike(Sue) He moved to Burns Lake, B.C. in 1968. Where he worked at a Molybdenum mine and raised his four children. Dave loved hunting and fishing, which there is multiple adventurous stories about. He and Sheryl moved to Edson in 1977 and started working at a new coal mine called Luscar Sterco. Dave was a foreman there for 20 years. He retired from coal mining to operating campsites, which camping was another passion that he enjoyed. Him and Sheryl went from Edson, Francois Lake, Sicamous, Powell River, meeting and making extraordinary friends along their way, eventually and officially retiring in Rossland. Dave was a very kind man with an infectious smile who loved joking around and teasing. He also loved working with his hands, building things from houses to cable stands, and always offered a hand to anyone who needed it.
Dave is survived by his loving wife Sheryl, children, Darrell(Trinda), David Jr., Teresa(Craig), Glenn and Wanda(Jim). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Corey(Kim), Tanya, Delainey(Jared), Daniel(Kirstyn), Katie, Brian, Alicia, Blair, James and Johdi(D.J.). Also 6 great grandchildren with special mention to Jaden. 5 great great grandchildren and countless extended family. All held in the highest regard and loved him dearly.
There will be an outdoor celebration of life at Mountain View Cemetery in Rossland at 1:00 pm followed by an outdoor luncheon at 2528 – 8th Ave. Rossland, B.C.
Everyone is welcome to come celebrate Dave’s life with the family.
