Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of David Patrick McCaustlin which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 9th, 2021. Born 1956, in Saint John, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Quinn) McCaustlin. David worked as a Longshoreman throughout his career and was a proud member of ILA Local 273. He enjoyed watching hockey and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. David enjoyed trailering and most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
David is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jill (Estabrooks) of Saint John; sons Derek McCaustlin (Angela) of Grand Bay-Westfield, Kris McCaustlin (Jody) of Saint John; daughters Sarah McCaustlin of Saint John, Amy McGowan of Musquash, Jessica Dunfield of Saint John; brother Blake McCaustlin of Moncton; sisters Dale McCaustlin of Saint John, Patsy Bannan (Donnie) of Saint John, Janice McCaustlin (Mike) of Sus, Marilyn Surrette (JJ) of Nova Scotia, Jackie McDowell of Kentucky; son-in-law Adam Brannan; sister-in-law Laura McCaustlin; grandchildren Luke, Patrick, Paige, Ben, Paul, Matt, Ayden, Noah, Evan, Emma and Hayden; great grandson Jaxon; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, David was predeceased by his daughter Jaclyn, step-daughters Stephanie and Amanda, sisters Lori and Brenda and brother Mark.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Wednesday, January 13th at 11 a.m. for invited guests only, followed by an interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Due to public health’s pandemic restrictions and to maintain everyone’s safety: masks are mandatory and physical distancing will be respected. Extended family and friends are invited to watch the service online. A Live-stream link will be added shortly. Donations in memory of David may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, IWK or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
