It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of David Galbraith on May 10, 2021, at the age of 78.
David was born and raised in Edmonton, AB. Son to Dr. Evan and Helen Galbraith, and younger brother to Barry. He described his early years as very happy, growing up in a close, loving, and supportive family. He graduated from Strathcona Composite High School and later the University of Alberta (B.Math) and University of Toronto (MBA). At the age of 16 he travelled to Vancouver with the Edmonton School Boys Band where he met the love of his life, Karen Allison. They married in Vancouver in 1965 and moved to Ontario, eventually settling in Oakville in 1969. Their only child, Paul, was born in 1971. David worked in the financial departments of Ford and Suncor, ending his career as VP Finance at Acres Engineering.
David was well known for his optimistic nature and exceptionally even temperament. Coming in at a full 6’4” in height, he was truly a gentle giant. He could coax the most timid cat (of which he’s known several) to curl up in his lap, yet his resolute nature made him a person who could never be pushed around.
David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his wife Karen, brother Barry (Carolyn), son Paul (Kelly) and grandchildren Aidan and Abby.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of David Galbraith November 16 1942 May 10 2021..
