David Allison Fulmore
October 16, 2021

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021 surrounded by love with his wife and daughters in the VG Site, QEII Hospital in Halifax after a short battle with cancer. Dad was born in Economy to Bert and Marion Fulmore on February 29, 1936. That made him a leap year baby and we always joked that because of that he never really grew “old”. He grew up in Economy helping his Dad in the General Store there. He loved to tell the stories of what the world was like back then. Our Dad spent over 60 years in the car business only retiring in 2020 at the age of 84. He loved his work, and he was the man if you had a question about a car, any car. His knowledge never wavered and he kept up with the times and changing vehicles. He was a true expert in his field. He began with a small dealership in Parrsboro, before moving to Dartmouth, where he worked at Teasdale and Foote. He spent over 25 years at Bob McDonalds Chev Olds in Halifax as the Used Car Manager, a job he loved. After that he spent 27 years at Harvard Auto in Sackville, growing the business and sharing his expertise with so many over the years. He was very well-respected and met many lifelong friends. ln his younger years Dad loved a good party. We spent every weekend in Parrsboro with a cottage full of friends and family. Dad was the best storyteller. He would entertain anyone who would listen and I know his stories are still talked about today. This continued right up until he couldn’t speak anymore. He loved a great meal, maple syrup and maple cream, fudge, dulse, raspberries and playing the lottery. But most of all he fiercely loved his family. Dad is survived by the love of his life and best friend, June (Smith); his cherished daughters, Tammy Carter (Derek), Connie Cox (David); his grandchildren, Kyle Carter (Danielle), Dylan Carter (Kelsey), Cory Cox and Nicole Cox (Brennan Laite); and his precious great-grandchildren, Aubree and Luke Carter, Jessie Marie Cox and Baby Carter due in January. He is also survived by his brother, Burchell Fulmore (Lucia) of Economy; sister, Joan Thompson of Truro; and sister-in-law, Doreen Fulmore of Stellarton; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Charles; and nephew, Doug Fulmore. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the 6th Fl. Thoracic floor at the VG Site, QEII Hospital. The love and compassion you showed to us and our Dad was unwavering and you helped soften our terrible journey. You are all amazing and a true tribute to your profession. A memorial service will be held in Stevens Road Baptist Church in Dartmouth on Wednesday, October 20th at 11 a.m. Proof of vaccine and masks will apply. lnterment will take place at a later date in Parrsboro. Donations in Dad’s name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be sent to: www.dartmouthfuneralhome.ca Gaga we will love you forever and miss you always
