Darrell Eugene Paul (Deet) of Oromocto First Nation passed
away unexpectedly at his home on September 28, 2021. He was born on
October 8, 1956 and was the son of Willard Paul of Oromocto First
Nation and Cecelia Paul (Denny) of Burnt Church First
Nation.
He will be deeply missed by his two daughters: Tammy Paul of
Oromocto First Nation, and Emily Sakundiak of Nackawic, NB, adopted
children: John Felix Paul and Nicole Paul, his granddaughter: Aspen
Bear of Oromocto First Nation, grandchildren: Mason, Jace and Scarlett
Bernard-Bear of Oromocto First Nation and Carson Sakundiak of Alberta,
his siblings: Sharon Paul and John Paul from Oromocto First Nation,
Patti Paul of Fort Folly First Nation, Millie Paul of Indian Island
First Nation, and Robert Russell of British Columbia, by his forever
friend: Barbara Paul of Geary, NB and by several nieces and nephews.
He will also be deeply missed by his beloved fur-babies and by the
members of his community Oromocto First Nation.
He was predeceased by his mother Cecelia, his father Willard,
brother Vernon Paul, and sisters: Connie Brooks and Annette
Silliboy.
Darrell loved fishing, hunting, four-wheeling and anything
with a motor. He worked as a painter for many years at CFB Gagetown
which he loved and enjoyed and he was also a well-loved and respected
school bus driver for Oromocto First Nation who wouldn’t
take any crap from his passengers. He loved his meals, especially the
ones delivered from his ex-wife (and best friend) Barb Paul. He loved
working with the Elders of Oromocto First Nation and he looked forward
to it every summer. He will be remembered as being always happy and
smiling (and stubborn) and as being the person who would give you the
shirt off of his back if you needed it. He will be deeply
missed.
A graveside service will be held September 29, 2021 at 2:00pm
at St. Vincent De Paul church in Oromocto NB.
