January 7, 1942 – December 12, 2021
In loving memory of Darlene Szabo (Frayn) who passed away at her home in Maple Ridge. Darlene was predeceased by her son Joe. While loved and survived by her sister Wendy. Her children; Lois, (Carmon), Carol, Shelley (Darren), Angela, and Prosperity.
Grandchildren; Crystal, Melissa, Sheldon, Jenn, Kim, Kylee, Cody, Molly, Katee, Skhy, Purity, Freedom, and Golden. As well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Darlene was born in Lethbridge Alberta the fourth of eight children, and moved to B.C. as a young girl. She raised her family in the Lower Mainland and volunteered for years as a leader in Brownies and Scouts in Maple Ridge, Abbotsford and Langley. An avid bowler in her younger days, she picked the sport back up later in life and enjoyed both the time spent and friends made. Darlene loved drinking coffee, doing puzzles and chatting at the kitchen table, with friends and family alike.
She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday December 18th 2021 at 2:00pm at 11617 203rd Street Maple Ridge.
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free, I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call: I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found my place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too shall miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow:
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my life seemed all too brief: Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now, He set me free.
