1948-2021
Darlene Blakney of Riverview passed away on Thursday, June
10, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Hillsborough she
was the daughter of the late Marven and Erma (Milton)
Steeves.
She was formerly employed with the T Eaton Co.
Darlene attended the Wesleyan Church, was well known for her artistic
ability with oil painting, gardening, bowling and loved dogs and
cats. In earlier years she spent time with husband and
family camping at KOA in Penobsquis following which they built a camp
in Elgin where many memories were made with their extended
family.
She will be dearly missed by daughter Nicki McKay (Jamie
Doyle); son Darren (Chantel) Blakney, sister Peggy Milton (Aurele
LeBlanc); brother Gerard Steeves; grandchildren Colton, Hannah, Maggie
and Skylar and several nieces and nephews. Aside from her
parents, she was predeceased by a nephew Greg and husband Robert (Bob)
Blakney.
A service to celebrate her life take place on Tuesday, June
15,2021 at 1 pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center,
330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007), with the interment to take
place at Greys’ Island Cemetery. Donations made to
The Friends of The Moncton Hospital or The SPCA would be appreciated
by her family. For those wishing to attend the service,
