Darlene Agnes Kelly 19382021

Darlene Agnes Kelly
1938-2021
Darlene A. Kelly of McAdam, NB passed away on December 7, 2021 at Dr.
Everett Chalmers Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was
born on January 12, 1938 at Lower Millstream, NB, a daughter of the
late Harold and Elma (Folkins) Parlee.
Darlene’s love of God and of her family was what characterized
her. As a wife and mother, she was a constant source of strength and
support and put the needs of others above her own. Her grandchildren
and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. They brought her many
smiles and she loved their visits. She attended Rockland Drive United
Baptist Church faithfully and over the years was an active member of
the Ladies Guild and the Women’s Missionary Society. Her church
friends were a second family.
Darlene was an avid knitter and there wasn’t anything she
couldn’t make. She produced more mittens, socks, sweaters, baby
sets than we can count. She loved having her family around and made
countless fabulous meals for so many, over so many decades. All who
tasted her ever famous homemade brown bread rolls came back for more!
She enjoyed her flower garden, her phone calls with Ruth and other
friends and the occasional game of Skip-Bo.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Austin C. Kelly; two
daughters, Brenda Doherty (Charles), Oromocto, Lake, NB and Karen
Kelly-Scott (Daniel), Ottawa, ON; four sons, Brian (Cheryl), Hampton,
NB, Andrew (Shirlu), McAdam, NB, Paul (Kelly), Ottawa, ON and Steven
(Nicole), Ottawa, ON; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda), Adam (Karen),
Nathan, Kaylee, Nicholas, Emily (Evan), Patrick (Patrick), Amanda
(Shanel), Alissa (Kyle), Andrea (Nathan), Alynn, Ellecia, Micah,
Payton, Ashlyn, Brendan (Richard), Ryan and Mackenzie; several great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister Betty Green, Sus, NB; a
brother Allen Parlee, Fredericton, NB; a sister-in-law Helen Hatfield
and a brother-in-law Harris Kelly.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by infant children,
Wayne Austin and Carol Agnes; a great grandson Hudson; a sister Doris
Cunningham (late John); a sister-in-law, Marilyn Parlee; a
brother-in-law Albert Green; her parents-in-law Oliver and Maude
Kelly.
