Obituary of Daniel Joseph Brake
Originally of Marystown, Newfoundland, passed away peacefully at home in Keswick, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 18, 2021. Danny Brake, long-time caretaker with the York Region District School Board was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Huntley) Brake. Loved father of Shawn (Eris) of Rockwood, Kevin (Natascha) of Mount Albert and Kim (Jamie) of Smiths Falls. Cherished grandfather of Jaci-Rose, Isla, Alissa, Ivy, Liam, Olivia, AJ, Brandon, Connor and Callum. Dear brother of Peter (Mary) Fitzpatrick and Anna Rose both of Marystown, Newfoundland and predeceased by Adrian, Richard, Frances, Anthony (survived by Cathy), Jerome (survived by Mary), Kevin and Sheila. Danny will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends here in Ontario and at home in Newfoundland. Special thanks to friends and family that provided love and support to Dan during his hard-fought battle and thanks to the healthcare team at Southlake and SRT Medstaff who provided such great care along the way. Interment to take place at Queensville Cemetery and a celebration of life in honour of Danny will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the M.W. Becker Funeral Home, Keswick, Ontario. In memory of Danny, donations made to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, Georgina Animal Shelter or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
