Obituary for Daniel Roy Milliard
My beautiful Husband Dan passed peacefully on June 15, 2021. As some of you know, he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma March 2020.
It was hard to say goodbye to you, when the sky was so blue and the birds were singing, but knowing that you passed peacefully brought me comfort. You will now be in Paradise to be with your mother (Alice), father (Leoned) and brother (John). As well as all your other loved ones who passed before you. They will be waiting for you with open arms.
Dan, I knew when I met you, that we were going to be together. 21 years later, 10 years of marriage, I can truthfully say these were some of the best years of my life, and I thank you. You made me the woman I am today. I knew you were the one for me when I met you, this was proven when you accepted my daughter Victoria and treated her like she was your own child. Over the years you have became a wonderful mentor and stepfather for her.
How do I described Dan in just a few words….
He was an experienced senior businessman and board member with extensive experience with growth companies, capital markets and corporate governance in both Canada and the United States. He served in leadership positions across a variety of industries including manufacturing, technology, communications and healthcare.
He was a true gentleman, who made an impact on everyone that he met. He enjoyed playing golf at the Port Carling Golf & Country Club and watching football (Go Penn State & Steelers!)
During his fight with cancer, we continued to visit our happy place (the cottage) as often as possible, having a glass of his favourite Chardonnay with friends and cruising on his boat through the beautiful waters of Muskoka while listening to our favourite music from Tim McGraw and other various country artists, and we can’t forget the Beach boys!
He continued doing what he loved and didn’t let his diagnosis stop him. This included walking every day with his headphones listening to his favourite audiobooks from Tom Clancy and other various authors.
You will be missed by so many friends, family and colleagues.
Your children John , daughter-in-law Amanda, granddaughter Tilly, daughter Allison, son in law Ruyter, grandchildren Lucas and Amelia, stepdaughter Victoria, father-in-law Nick (and
Buddy) will miss you and cherish all our memories made together.
I couldn’t have asked for a better husband that loved me unconditionally. I will miss you, as you will miss me, but we will still be together in each others hearts.
Cheers to you, Dan. Taken from us too soon, but it was your time to “tee off” ⛳️.

My heart is broken. Danny was the Best. Such a gentleman. Smart, but not arrogant. Danny had a heart of gold, and I am truly sorry he had to become ill. The good nees, he had many who loved him.
With Love
Melinda Crawford.
I want to come to his celebration of life. Please keep me updated.
