Obituary
Daniel Albert Nimmo beloved husband of the late Victoria Nimmo, passed away peacefully Jan 6, 2021 at the age of 87 years.
Daniel was born in Drumheller, AB March 23, 1933 to Rose & Robert Nimmo. He went to school in East Coulee, AB. Dan started working in the coal mines at the age of 18 years. On June 30, 1962 he married Victoria Urichuck. Dan started as an Operator for Alberta Gas Truck Line in 1966. They moved with their family to Rocky Mountain House where they raised their children and Dan became a Forman for Alberta Gas Trunk Line/ NOVA.
During this time, he enjoyed camping with family & friends. Dan was a kind and generous man who gave his time and energy freely to others, putting others first before himself. He was promoted to General Foreman for the Fairview Maintenance Area with Nova Gas Transmission acquiring the title Capt’n Dan. Later transferring to Airdrie, where he retired after 27 years with the company.
During his retirement Dan enjoyed spending time with and caring for Vicky until her death. Dan also took pleasure in woodworking, helping out his neighbors and sharing in the lives of his granddaughters and great grandsons.
Dan leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Deborah (Norm) Wolfe of Cochrane, Marie (Ken) Jessamine of Abbotsford, Robert (Leann) Nimmo of Drumheller, six granddaughters, Danielle (Brandon) Satchwell, Brittany (Jamie) Bishop, Jocelyn (Justin) Kufske, Jessica Jessamine, Skye Devoe (Nigel), Mackenzie Nimmo, six great grandsons, Xander Tchir, Jace Tchir, Isaiah Tchir, Ryerson Satchwell, Hayeson Satchwell, Kolton Bishop. He is also survived by his twin sister Jean (Roy) Powell, and brother Bill (Lynne) Nimmo. Dan was predeceased by his wife Victoria Nimmo, sister Helen James, and brother Robert Nimmo.
