Dana”
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing
of Dana Michael Vickery, age 74, of Murray Siding on Sunday, August
15, 2021 at Digby General Hospital. Born in Amherst, he was a son of
the late Joyce (Milner) Colson and Austin Vickery.
Dana worked for Intertape Polymer Group for 33 years. He
enjoyed spending time at the beach, (especially the old cottage at
Jackson’s point), playing cards, and playing Bingo at the
legion in Freeport where he had been living for the last few months.
He was already well liked by everyone in his new community. He loved
watching all sports, especially his Boston teams.
Dana will be remembered by his children, Timm (Sara) Vickery;
Buffy (Marcel) Vickery; Paul (Nicole) Vickery; Scott Vickery; Adam
(Jamie) Vickery; sister, Jocelyn (Darrell) White; brothers, Steven
(Kim) Vickery; Roy (Janet) Vickery; grandchildren, Justin, Dennis,
Tyler, Austin, Jessica, Rebecca, Dylan, Tanner, Cheyenne, Cole, Taya,
Adalynn; great grandchildren, Auora and Sophie; as well as numerous
nieces, nephews and extended family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Dana’s
family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021.
(Please use the front double doors of the funeral home, wear a mask,
register and practice physical distancing.) Funeral service will be
held 3 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Mattatall – Varner
Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, Reverend Donna Lawrence
officiating.
(Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating is
limited and you must pre-register to attend the funeral service by
calling 902-893-3177; thank you for your cooperation and
understanding. Webcasting of the
funeral service will begin at 2:55 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021 and
will remain on this site for some time.) If
so desired, donations in Dana’s memory to Canadian Cancer
Society are welcomed.
