With extreme reluctance, on December 20th at exactly 5:11pm, Celia passed away with her beloved family by her side. She leaves behind her lifelong partner, David Humphrey, and children Monique (Marc) and Michael Vanderjagt. Her grandchildren, Sydney (Josh), Jonathan and Jay Michael will miss her every minute of everyday.
Celia will also be lovingly remembered by Mark (Kris) and Todd Humphrey as well as their children, Blake, Tyler, Claire and Evan and dearly missed by her extensive list of family and friends; including sisters Angela and Julie and special cousin David Roberts.
Born in Liverpool, England (but if you asked her she was really from Leeds) to parents Robert and Alma Roberts. Celia moved to Canada at the young age of 8 but carried her English roots with her throughout her life.
To describe such an incredible woman seems near impossible; but here is what we know to be true.
Celia loved her family fiercely; especially her grandchildren.
She had a passion for all sports and loved “game day”; it didn’t matter if it was Timbit soccer, Burlington Eagles hockey games or NFL playoff games at the RCA dome.
She ran her own successful interior design business and was passionate about her horticultural world. Celia even won a silver medal at a World Association of Floral Artists design show. It is with certainty that Heaven’s gardens are now being well attended to.
Finally, she was intelligent, beautiful and would give her opinion even if you did not necessarily ask for it. She was a kind and warm person who showed her love deeply and longed for it to be returned.
Cremation has taken place and Celia’s life will be celebrated in the spring, her favourite time of year. In lieu of flowers, please donate blood, then have a tea and spend some time in a garden.
