Dale Edwards Saturday June 5th 2021

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Dale Laura Edwards, on June 5 2021, in her 83rd year. Dale is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clayton, and her children Lynda Edwards, David (Nancy Ann Frosst), and Karen (Kevin) Looby, and grandchildren Benjamin, Kat, and Shannon Looby.
She will also be greatly missed by her and Clayton’s siblings and her many nieces and nephews, as well as her many friends made through the years.
Dale was born in Armdale, NS in 1938, and came with her family to Toronto in 1949. Dale and Clayton married in September of 1957, and bought a house in Scarborough in 1966, where they remained for 52 years. In 2018 they moved to Cambridge to be closer to family.
Dale and Clayton attended Stone Church in downtown Toronto for most of their lives, and attended Forward Church in Cambridge after moving there.
Dale was very gifted at needlework and was the designer and creator of many wonderful works. She delighted in passing on her skills and knowledge. She was a founding member of the Scarborough Needle Arts Guild. She was awarded the Leonida Leatherdale Award for “INNOVATION IN EMBROIDERY” from the Embroiders Association of Canada for her work, Frost Fire in 2003, and the Constance Howard Award for a Christening Gown in 1994.
Donations can be made to “Ovarian Cancer Canada” or to “Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice”.
