Dafoe Robert Ronald 2021

Robert Ronald Dafoe, predeceased by his beloved wife & best friend, Erma Dafoe, loving father of Tamara (John) Kavanagh of Bancroft and Terry (Sue) Dafoe of Bancroft and loving grandpa of James, Christina, Courtney, Matthew, Emma, Hunter and Tayla. Ron passed away doing what he loved, in Newfoundland on a Moose Hunting trip. Our family is deeply grateful for Wayne Everall, who stayed with Ron at the hospital, during his passing and brought him home to us. Ron was a life-long resident of the Bancroft area and owned and operated Birds Creek Lumber Products for many years, while raising two children with his wife Erma. Ron and Erma were married almost 55 years and spent many of their days travelling throughout Canada and the United States. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with those closest to him. Ron lived a very fulfilled life embracing time with family and friends and was always ready for new adventures. Ron will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family would welcome donations to either Hospice North Hastings, Box 875 Bancroft, K0L 1C0 or to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of floral tributes. Arrangements entrusted to M.G. Daly Funeral Home, Maynooth. (Cards available at the funeral home (613) 338-3259 or e-mail condolences to

  1. My sincere condolences to Tamara, Terry and family for the sudden passing of Ron. He was a one of kind guy whom you would never forget once you met him and heard his laugh. I had the pleasure of deer hunting with him at “Bumpy Road Farm” and elsewhere in the County several times over the years and we always had a great time when we were in his company. He had a good sense of humor and was generous to myself and friends and I always looked forward to seeing him and Erma with Wayne and Brenda when they stopped in Timmins during their Harley road trips. You could tell he was passionate about the outdoors and hunting and fishing, so I guess that is why I go along well with him and enjoyed his company.
