D. Larry Hicks, of Riverview passed away at The Moncton
Hospital, on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the age of 73
years.
Born in
Sackville he was the son of the late Carmen and Gracie (Wheaton)
Hicks. He retired in 2002 from the Riverview High School after 32
years of teaching Math and Physics. Larry was a life member and Past
Pres. of the Riverview Lions Club and also the reciepient of the
Melvin Jones Fellowship award in 2018.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Alphonsine (LeBlanc);
sons Darren (Prescilla) of Cap-Pele, Craig (Jodi) of Cap-Pele, and
Jeff of Halifax; brother Victor (Donna) of Sackville; grandchildren
Tyler (Gillian), Emily, Ryan, Logan; brother in law Renee LeBlanc
(Leigh) of Riverview; niece Krista (Ian) Phinney; nephews Justin
Hicks, and Andree LeBlanc.
Besides his parents he was
predeceased by his infant son Gregory.
In the spring there
will be a graveside service held at the Sackville Cemetery.
Due to Covid-19 services are not permitted, at this time the
family ask that you honour Larry by giving blood, the gift of life
that Larry received so many times throughout his illness.
Donations made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of
Canada, or to the Dr. Sheldon Rubin Oncology Unit would be appreciated
by the family.
