It is with deeply saddened hearts that the family of D. Arnold A. Post announces his passing on Sunday, August 1,2021, at Bluewater Health at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Mary Post. Loving father of Rod (Tracy) Post, David (Melissa) Post, and Kim (George) Carther. Cherished grandfather of Haley (Chase) Ainsworth, Devin (Kirstie) Post, Kodie (Nick) Steward, Terra (Corey) Carther, Rochelle Post and Conner (Emily) Post. Treasured great-grandfather of William, Noah and Owen. Predeceased by his parents Floyd and Clara Post and by his siblings Wellie Post, Bessie Tinney, Don Post, Bernice Post and Shirley Bandy. Arnold started working for the Bank of Nova Scotia on May 8, 1953. Being so good with numbers, he was quickly promoted to Branch Manager, and put in charge of various locations across Ontario. After 33 years he retired from the bank on September 1, 1986. Dad spent the next 35 years keeping busy by working part time and helping out at Ontario Hose Specialties and Canadian Eavestroughing. If he wasn’t found tinkering on his vehicles, puttering on a lawnmower in his garage or helping family or a neighbour out; you could usually find him having a nap on his couch. It’s fair to say that dad had the gift of gab and could strike up a conversation with anyone, at anytime, in any circumstance. He made new friends where ever he went. His great sense of humour always put a smile on your face. He was notorious for his practical jokes and everyone was fair game, especially his grandkids. He loved nothing more than being around his grandkids and great-grandkids. Whether it was being the first one to show up at their activities or sporting events to cheer them on or just hanging out with them and trying to make them laugh. He might have even told them that it was okay to have a mini chocolate bar before breakfast a time or two! He will be greatly missed but always in our hearts. A private family service will be held with interment in Resurrection Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bluewater Health Palliative Care or ICU (cheques only at the funeral home please).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of D Arnold A Post June 25th 1934 August 1st 2021..
