Croft – Richard Maxwell “Rick”, 74, of Brooklyn, Queens County, passed away peacefully in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on Monday, May 24, 2021.
Born in Liverpool, Rick was a son of the late Percy and Vivian ( Rhyno) Croft.
In his younger years, Rick worked in the woods logging before moving on to work for Bowater Mersey Paper Company loading boats and working as a diver. He, along with his wife, Joanne, enjoyed fishing in their boat and restoring old tractors. He was an avid collector of many items, but he had a special love for guns and making his own bullets and shells. He was a great marksman. Rick was happiest when spending time at his camp on the River Road.
Rick is survived by his loving wife and sweetie, Joanne McCarthy; step-daughter, Kim McCarthy; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Mia, Kevin, Kory and Kelby; brother, Donald; and his lovable rescue dog, Charlie.
He as predeceased by a step-daughter, Kerri Huskins.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Service, Liverpool. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family will celebrate Rick’s life at a later date when it is safe for all of us to gather again.
