Constance’s Obituary
On December 10th, 2021, Constance (Voncie) Renouf, caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital at the age of 81 years.
Voncie as she was better known, was a ‘Jill’ of all trades, her eagerness to learn (and sometimes stubbornness) allowed her to succeed in anything she put her mind to. She had a quirky sense of humour that could bring a smile to the saddest of faces, and was always there to ‘lend a hand’ to anyone needing it.
She will be lovingly remembered by: her children: Edna (Stanley) Hall, Derrick (Joanne) Renouf, Jerome (Janet) Renouf, Sandra Renouf (Stephen Simon), Vaughan Renouf (Gail Shannon), and Maria Renouf (David Jesso); 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grand children; sisters: Gladys (Robert) Cormier, Helen Christian (Gerard Hynes), and Cynthia (Jerry) Hall; brothers: Guy (Majella) Rouzes, Wayne Rouzes (Marina Lainey), and Millage (Lorrie) Rouzes; sister-in-law Delores Rouzes; and a large circle of family and friends.
Her passing is preceded by: her husband Jerome William Renouf; parents John and Josephine (Simon) Rouzes; and siblings Edna, Florence, Ada, John, Stan, Ben, and Giles.
There be no funeral service at this time; a celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest,
it broke our hearts to see you go, God only takes the best.
They say that memories are golden; well, maybe that is true,
but we never wanted memories, we only wanted you.
Your life was love and labour, your love for family true,
You did your best for all of us, we will always remember you.
We sat beside your bedside, our hearts were crushed and sore,
We did our duty to the end, til we could do no more.
In tears we watched you sinking, we watched you fade away,
and though our hearts were breaking, we knew you could not stay.
Our lips can’t speak how much we loved you, our hearts can’t tell what to say,
only God knows how we miss you, in our home that is lonely today.
But still we’ll look for you in summer, when earths beauty is in bloom
on the wings of your cherished butterfly, as it breaks from its cocoon.
