Richard “Colin” Van Blerk, age 81, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 14th, 2021.
Known as ‘Spider’ to his friends in Africa, ‘Dutchie’ to his friends in Canada, and ‘Tiger’ to his grandchildren, Colin lived a colourful life, most of which couldn’t/shouldn’t be committed to print media.
Born in Shabani, Zimbabwe, Colin knew he was destined for more, and when the time was right and his schooling was complete, he moved to Zambia and joined the army. Following his military servic…
