Coba Jackie De Jong Saturday October 30th 2021

Coba “Jackie” De Jong (nee Jagt), formerly of Lucknow, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by her beloved partner of 42 years Ken Rae, and her children Wayne, Jackie Teixeira, Denise, and Rob (Sheri). A loving Oma to Tom (Nicole), Rob, Stephanie Oldfield, Kira, Dylan and Paige Teixeira. She will be missed by her siblings Janet Van Niekerk (Alex), Albert Jagt (Willeke), and Teresa Dekker (Dirk), as well as many treasured nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brother Henry Jagt (2020) and her parents, Bouke (1991) and Jantina (2019).
Coba was born in Erica, the Netherlands, and loved both her homeland and adopted country. She found great joy in her job as a personal support worker. Not one to let good times pass her by, she was fond of saying “I’m only going this way once,” often before staying awake for another round of cards or heading off to travel or camp with her family. She loved to read, cook, and chat over a glass of wine. She leaves her family and friends with countless memories of fun and laughter. We’ll meet you by the campfire.
A special thank you to Dr. Mithoowani and team at Grand River Cancer Centre, Kitchener.
Cremation had taken place and a celebration of Coba’s life will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Cards available at Cameron’s in Walkerton (519-881-1273) Donations and condolences may also be made online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
