Obituary of Clyde Sinclair Jefferson
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Clyde Sinclair Jefferson, age 90, of Deep Brook on November 22, 2021. Clyde passed away peacefully at Mountain Lea Lodge where he resided for the past year and a half. Clyde was born on August 3, 1931 in Deep Brook, Nova Scotia. He was the oldest son of Wallace and Dorothy (Sulis) Jefferson. As a young man Clyde worked as a mason’s helper before going to work in the maintenance department at the Digby Pines Golf Resort, where he remained for the rest of his career, retiring as the groundskeeper in 1995. Clyde took great pride in keeping the greens and fairways immaculate for all to enjoy. The Pines held a special place in his heart as it is where he met the love of his life, his wife Delerise, in 1981.
Clyde was a friendly man, blessed with the gift of gab, always taking the time to stop and talk to friends, neighbours, and even strangers he was just meeting for the first time. He was a proud member of the Deep Brook Baptist Church and enjoyed the simple pleasures life had to offer, always seeming to have a smile on his face. Clyde was a talented wood worker and he created many special pieces that his family still have today. He also enjoyed gardening and taking trips to visit lighthouses around the province, which often included a picnic and admiring the local sights. Clyde was active in the community, taking in as many community events as possible. He and Delerise enjoyed many adventures in their life together, but one of their favorite things to do was visit Upper Clements Park. He was such a fixture there that the park designated him a lifetime member.
Clyde is predeceased by his mother and father, Wallace & Dorothy Jefferson, his brothers Gerald Jefferson and Donald Jefferson, and his sister Marjorie Webb. Clyde is survived by his wife of 36 years, Delerise (Frail) and his brother, Lawrence (Nippy) Jefferson.
Funeral service will be held on November 29th at 2:00pm at Kaulbach Family Funeral Home in Annapolis Royal, immediately followed by the burial at Clementsvale Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Rev. Mark Cress. No flowers by request, however, donations may be made to either the VON Annapolis Valley or Mountain Lea Lodge (recreation department). On line condolences may be sent to www.kaulbachfamilyfuneralhome.com.
