Obituary of Claude Douglas Lazenby
LAZENBY, Claude: On Wednesday, July 14, 2021, Claude Douglas Lazenby passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville, at the age of 85. Claude will be missed by his loving wife of 62 years Marjorie (Misener), and his daughters Nancy Anderson (Dale) and Sharon Cole (John). He was a fun and caring Papa to grandchildren Kelsey (Brandon), Megan (Dan), Sydney (Kevin), and Joshua (Darci). Predeceased by his father Harold Lazenby, mother Violet Lazenby, brother Keith Lazenby, and sister Bernice Werry. He will be missed by his sisters-in-law Betty Clubine (Misener) and Pauline Lazenby, his brother-in-law Bob Werry, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Born in Woodstock, Claude grew up in Brantford where he married Marjorie. His job at Mueller Canada took them to Kilbride and then in retirement followed their girls to Smithville. Visitation will take place at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Monday, July 19 from 5 – 8 p.m. (masks required with social distancing). A private funeral will take place on Tuesday, July 20th. Memorial donations to Smithville United Church or Wesley Urban Ministries can be arranged through the funeral home, merritt-fh.com.
