Obituary of Clara Frances Reid, New Waterford
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother, wife, grandmother, aunt and freind, Clara(MacNamara) Reid, as everyone came to know as Ma on May 31st, 2021 at home.
Clara was a loving, kind soul who loved to make everyone laugh. She loved her trips to Iona, where she spent numerous days making memories with family and friends. Clara had the craziest sense of humor, but that’s what made her who she was. She also had a love for bingo and traveled near and far to play. She spent her years with her husband, Allan (Francis), residing in New Waterford, raising nine children who she always thought the world of. Clara adored her 13 grandchildren with all her heart and soul and was constantly telling people about them. Ma loved to cook and make sure everyone had food to eat and if you ever needed anything she was always there or always tried her best to be. She had a special place in her heart for her niece, Francie, whom she always considered her daughter. She was especially close to her son, Christopher, as they would often go for tea, some thrift shopping or just a get together to make sure they were both okay. Ma will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure to meet her.
Clara is survived by her husband of 42 years, Allan (Francis) Reid, New Waterford; her sons, Allan, Alberta, Murray, Sydney, Christopher, New Waterford, Elvis(Melissa),Sydney; her daughters, Clara (Steph),Saskatchewan, Tara(Ron),Sydney,Theresa(Jimmy), Moncton, Jean-Elizabeth, Sydney and Heather(Cody),BC; grandchildren,Jack,Brandon,Faye,Alex,James,Daniel, Keith, Charlie, Gabrielle,Mitchell,Josh, Phoenix, and Zoey; sister, Evelyn O’Donnell, as well as special nieces, Francine and Marjorie, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was predeceased by both her parents, Joseph and Margaret (Hinchey); sisters, Margaret,Joan,Jean,Rita; infant daughter, Heather ,and best friend, Heather Tonary.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at a later date in Saint Agnes Cemetery, New Waterford, with Father Peter McLeod officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Clara ‘Ma’ to a charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to V.J.
