Obituary of Christopher Lee Parchman
We, the family of Chris Parchman are sad to share the news of his passing. Chris was born and raised in Swift Current. He attended St. Pat’s, Beatty and graduated from Swift Current Composite High School. Chris worked in the auto industry, spending many years at Standard Motors. He also did auto detailing and yard care, travelling many miles on the roads around Swift Current to his various clients. Chris started to lose his vision in 2004 due to diabetic retinopathy. This led him down a new road. Chris moved to Regina in 2006 and graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2011. He has been working as an assisted technology specialist with Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada, formerly CNIB. Chris faced many health issues later in life and overcame many obstacles to live independently. His stubbornness and determination served him well and we were very proud and in awe of his perseverance. Chris was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Rose Parchman; grandparents; and his precious guide dog, Nicole, in 2020. He is survived by his partner, Carolynne Unteriner; sisters, Barb Parchman, Leanne (Dennis) Cymbalisty; uncles, Carl Parchman and Ray Bourlon; aunts, Lorraine Blakely and Carol Parchman; several cousins; and many friends. A memorial gathering will be held at Lac Pelletier, Saskatchewan on June 25, 2022. Chris’ cremation is entrusted to Speers Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services. Donations may be made in Christopher’s memory to the CNIB Guide Dog Foundation, 1929 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON M4G 3E8 or the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Saskatchewan Branch, 116 103 St. E A3, Saskatoon, SK S7N 1Y7.
