It is with profound sadness we announce
the passing of Carolyn Irene Smith, age
74 of Sackville, NB. Carolyn passed away on Sunday, December
19, 2021 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Midgic, NB, she was a daughter
of the late Colburn and Irene (Hicks) Estabrooks.
Carolyn loved her interactions with
students over her many years s a secretary of the Commerce and History
Departments at Mount Allison University. She was an avid
gardener, baker and spoiler of grandchildren!
She will be sadly missed by sons Brent
(Jennifer), Sackville, Byron (Amy), Toronto, ON; grandchildren; Seth,
Nate and Cameron; brother Fred (Joann) Estabrooks; as well as a number
of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by her husband Hudson
and her sister Marlene Phinney.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). There will be no
visitation or funeral at this time.
Donations in memory of Carolyn may be
made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or a charity of your
choice.
Carolyn’s family wishes to extend
heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Countryside Residence in Port
Elgin, and to Karen Brown whose friendship and guidance has been
immeasurable.
