It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, in Sarnia, Ontario, on Monday, August 9th, 2021, at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Deborah Anderson. Loving father of Jennie-Ruth (Ben) Belanger of Omemee, Nathan (Amanda) Anderson of Sarnia, Kaitlyn (Andrew) Timmermans of Sarnia. Cherished grandfather of Roland, Rosemary, Sawyer and Josie Belanger, Hadassah Anderson, Enoch, Kiyan and Ishmael Timmermans. Survived by brother Ronald (Clothilde) Anderson, Marion (Richard) Pym, Catherine (Lorne) Mater as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents William and Donna (Tanner) Anderson and sister Ruth.
Born and raised on a farm in Brigden, Ontario, Ray, moved to Sarnia, Ontario and took great pride in raising his own family with his wife, Deborah, of 35 years. Ray loved Jesus and his family and had a one of a kind smile that could brighten your day.
Ray will be greatly missed by family and friends and will be remembered fondly until we can be reunited in heaven.
Family and friends will be received at Bethel Pentecostal Church, 1565 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will take place in Oil City Cemetery.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bluewater Health – Palliative Care or Gideons International In Canada (cheques mailed to the funeral home or made online, please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.

  1. Ray did indeed have a special smile. I only ever remember Ray with a smile and a little laugh. At Tanner Reunions he would always make a point to say hello and ask how we all were. He was a great guy and will be missed. Our prayers to all the family.
