Peacefully at the Souris Hospital on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 Charles Henry Mallard passed away with family at his side. He was in his 90th year of Fortune, PE. He is survived by his wife Margaret Mallard (nee Conohan) and was a loving father to Anna Mallard (Shawn), Skip (Rose) and predeceased by his beloved son Jamie and infant daughter Anita Jean. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren who were the love of his life Nick Mallard and Andrea MacDonald. Charlie will also be sadly missed by his special friend who knew him as “Man Pat” Alexander Lord.
Survived by his siblings Mary Frances Oninski, Helen MacDonald, Isabell McDonnell, Jean Lesieur, Lloyd Mallard, Peter Mallard (Darlene), Patsy Reardon (Aubrey), sisters-in-law Joan and Doreen Mallard, Rowena Burke, Norma Brown, Sheila Conohan and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Anna (MacCormack) Mallard, step-mother Mary (McInnis) Mallard, brothers Joe, Leo, Jim and Mickey Mallard, sisters Gerry Jenkins, Avonetta Campbell, sister-in-law Dorothy Mallard and nephew Michael MacDonald.
Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place for family only. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Souris for invited guests. Interment will follow in the Bay Fortune United Church Cemetery. If so desired, donations made to the Bay Fortune Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
