Charles Ernest Needles died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on January 2, 2021
Charlie was born on June 11, 1959 in Stratford, Ontario – the sixth of eight Needles siblings.
He loved his family above all else and his wife, children and grandchildren loved him back dearly.
Predeceased by his parents Myron (Bud) and Ann Marie Needles, as well as brothers Bill and Pat and father-in-law Dan Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Kathleen (Anderson) and his children Craig Needles (Stacey), William Needles (Ashley), Meagan McGuckin (Mick) and Caroline Needles (Matt). He was also a proud grandfather of Charlotte and Peyton and the uncle to many loving nieces and nephews.
Also survived by siblings and in-laws Mary Ann Dempsey (Bob), Beth Pulchinski (Les), Nano Needles (Jeff), Mike Needles (Anna), Diane Needles, George Needles (Sue), Bill Anderson (Gail), Esther Vander Hyden (Harold) and mother-in-law Daisy Anderson.
Charles and his family made impacts in all of the communities in which they lived – from Toronto, to Kemptville, to Omaha, to Waterloo and finally, in St. Marys. He’ll be remembered by his wife and children as a man who put their needs above all else, who was blessed with a quick sense of humour, and the ability to both write a computer program and renovate a basement.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering in his honour is planned for the near future.
