Hartlen, Charles Douglas-83, Stewiacke, NS, passed away
Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre,
Truro. Born in Windsor Junction, NS, he was the son of the late Arthur
and Frances (Hobin) Hartlen. Charles was an owner/operator truck
driver having driven for CNR for 43 years. He loved his country music,
playing his guitar and especially travelling to Florida and other
places. He was a quiet, unassuming man and never passed judgement on
anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Marie (Fralick)
Hartlen; sons, Charles F, Hilden, Vernon W, Dartmouth; daughter,
Jacqueline M Hartlen-Noble, Bedford; 7 grandchildren; numerous
great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred (Jean), Truro; sister, Noreen
Sinyerd, Bedford.
Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his sisters,
Marie and Dorothy.
No visitation or funeral service by family request. Burial
will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction
of the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. If so
desired, donations in Charles’s memory may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society. Private messages of condolence may be sent to
