It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cecil John “Jack” Brown in Brockville on October 1st, 2021.
Jack Brown of River Road, Mallorytown and Bridlewood Manor, Brockville aged 90 years. Predeceased by his parents Esmarelda (Davis) Brown and William Brown of Mallorytown and his brother Paul Brown. A good and faithful cousin to Anne (Smith) Hunt and cousin to Andrew Hunt (Olga), Susan Barkley (Clayton), and Stephen Hunt (Judy).
Jack was a teacher for over 40 years at several schools finishing his career as the Head of the Mathematics Department at Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute (KCVI). He was also an avid outdoorsman leading many hikes in the Adirondack mountains as well as canoe trips around Ontario once travelling as far as James Bay. Jack was also a longtime local historian and genealogist at the Brockville Museum.
Thanks go to the staff at Bridlewood Manor retirement residence who made Jack’s last years happy ones. A special thanks to Jack’s longtime friends and neighbours Sandra and David Wells, Chris O’Grady, George Dillon and Terry Hicks.
There will be a private family service with interment at Oakland Cemetery in Brockville.
