Cecil’s Obituary
Passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021, Mr. Cecil Bramwell Canning of Birchy Bay, age 91 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth; infant children – 2 boys and 2 girls; siblings, Hedley, Ella Blanche (Roy Porter), Lucy Russell; brothers-in-law, Peter Quinlan and Calvin Freake; son-in-law, Lloyd Hodder. Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his daughters; Linda (Leslie Freake); Marie (Bronce Bath); Brenda Hodder, Beverly (Larry Pope); Verley (Carl Mews); Marcella (Oscar Lewis); Lona (Clifford Barrett); sons; Bramwell (Shelia); Brooklyn (Edwinna); 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great- grandchildren; siblings, Carrie Freake, Rachel (Sidney Brace), Dulcie (Layton Godfrey), Clarence (Shelia), Eileen Quinlan; sister-in-law, Louise Freake; brother-in-law, Lester Russell and a large circle of family and friends.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Saturday, May 8th from 2-4 PM following COVID government regulations. The Funeral Service will take place from the Salvation Army Church, Birchy Bay on Sunday, May 9th at 2 PM for invited guests only. Interment will follow from the Salvation Army Cemetery, Birchy Bay.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Birchy Bay, NL.
