MARTIN: Carson “Alvie”
It is with broken hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Alvie Martin February 4, 2021. Alvie was the best friend and soulmate to Susan. Precious son to Betty and the late Carson Martin. Loving brother to Annie (late Kenny), Kathy (late Maurice), Tony, Mary, Kim, and Steve. Predeceased by brother Joe, and sisters Jean and Lorry. Father to Jacklyn, Dave, Johnna, Aaron, Hope, and Brooke. Alvie’s heart had so much love to share he welcomed his step children Amy, Krissy, Luke and their partners. He fulfilled his Papa/Dad role to his grandchildren Jersee, Jaycee, Jewellz, Jarrod, and Jada. He also was an awesome Papa to Chase, Jorn, Sage, Damien, Jerica, Addy, Baylee, Brock, Koen, Kylen, Aaria, Kylee, Keira, Jaxon, Bella, Hannah, Lili, Auria, Harmony, and Tru and great grandfather to Raven. Son-in-law to Pudge (late Hawk), brother-in-law to Earl, Ronnie, Bobbie, Shirley, Lisa, Kenny, Louise, and their partners. Special friend to Gibb. Alvie was employed with Six Nations Council Public Works Department off and on for 33 years where he acquired the nickname Graderman. Over the years Alvie was an avid fastball coach to numerous teams on Six Nations and beyond, winning numerous titles coaching his own children throughout the years. Alvie also spent a lot of his time at the arena during hockey season. Alvie was well known for his infectious laughter and love for his family. The family extends a special thank you to the doctors and nurses and ICU East at Hamilton General for their care and compassion given to Alvie in his last days there. The family will honour his life with visitation at Styres Funeral Home 1798 4TH Line, Ohsweken on Saturday from 6 – 8 p.m. (must schedule appointment by calling or texting (519-757-6397) (519-802-4051).
