Carson’s Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Carson Wentzell announce his passing on Thursday January 28th, 2021 at the Bone Bay Health Centre in his 70th year. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories is his loving wife of 50yrs. Sarah (nee Payne). His sons; Corey (Kim) and Monte (Tammy). Grandchildren; Stephen, Lance (Janelle), Callie (Tim), Kirsten, Shandell (Mike), Danielle( Mike) and Chris. Great Grandchildren; Brinley, Addison and Austin. Brother’s; Brian (Gloria) House, Dawson (Bethany) Wentzell. Sister; Lexy (Steve) Chapeskie. Brother-in-law; Ernie (Glenda) Payne, sister-in-law; Angie (Sean) King and Carol Carey and his mother-in-law; Constance Payne. Also left to mourn are a large circle of nieces, nephews and other family as well as a large circle of wonderful friends that are like family. Carson was predeceased by his parents Olga & Stedman and father-in-law; Douglas Payne.
Carson was a lover of nature, he was educated as a forest tech and except for the years he worked as a mine, he spent the rest of his career working at what he loved best- The forestry and the great outdoors. He went to work with the Gros Morne National Park in 1992 and although he loved his work his greatest joy was the friends & colleagues he met and worked with through the years. After retirement from the park Carson’s greatest love (besides his wife Sarah) was working at his cabin at Portland Creek Pond. Working in his beautiful garden, bird watching and puttering around in his shed.
Carson was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had great pride and adoration for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all.
Family will be receiving family and friends at The Holy Cross Anglican Church in Daniel’s Harbour on Friday January 29th,2021 from the hours of 7-9 pm. and Saturday January 30th,2021 from 10am -12pm. also where the funeral service will take place on Saturday January 30th at 2 pm with Rev Terry Rose officiating , internment will follow at the family plot at the Anglican cemetery in Daniel’s Harbour.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake. Due to the current covid-19 restrictions the visitation & funeral are limited to family and friends.
