With very heavy hearts the family wishes to announce the
passing of Caroline Davidson on September 28, 2021 at the
age of 94.
Caroline is survived by 4 children – Linda (Joe) Brigan in
Cochrane, Glen, Donna (Grant Quibell), Les (Wendy); 7
grandchildren – Kim Hubbard (Jimmy Haszard) in Calgary,
Lindsay (Lee Vaskey) in Denver, Kristy (Michael Lodwig), Katy
(Ravi Kalluri), Brett (Breanne Johnson), Brandon (Heather
Bodell), Nicole (Cody Bowdige); 4 great grandchildren – Asher,
Brighton, Max, Priya, and 2 more on the way; as well as
numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Caroline was predeceased by her husband George, her parents
Samuel and Elizabeth Riegler, her half-brother Gustav and wife
Mary Koch and numerous extended family and friends.
Caroline was born in Loipersdorf, Burgenland, Austria and
immigrated with her family to Canada in April 1928. Caroline
was raised on a small family farm outside of Lethbridge,
attending school in Coaldale. Caroline married George on June
28, 1952 moving to Strathcona County joining the Davidson
clan.
Caroline was a kind, gentle, non-judgmental, warm, caring lady
who loved sewing, cooking, gardening and old-time country
music.
The family would like to thank the Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home
staff and volunteers for taking care of Caroline for
5 ½ years. “Sincere thank you” to the staff of Unit 21 at the
Leduc Community Hospital for providing compassionate care to
Caroline in her final days.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held in the spring of 2022, when
the family will be able to visit with numerous relatives and
friends.
