Carol Lucille Nichols
1938-2021
Carol Lucille Nichols – 82, Belmont,
passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, May 1, 2021, at Cedarstone
Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Belmont, she was a daughter of the late
Charles (Bent) and Ethel Roode.
Carol loved spending time with her family and her
grandchildren and great grandchildren made her smile. She enjoyed
baking, cooking, crossword puzzles, knitting, UCW church group,
dances, going for drives and shopping. She worked at Arn and
Barb’s Catering, Cavanaugh’s and as a janitor at
NSAC.
Carol is survived by her sons, Brian (Cathy), Onslow
Mountain; Randy (Gloria), Calgary, Alberta; Robbie (Fanny), Calgary,
Alberta; daughters, Kathy (Roger) Morrisey, Belmont; Sherry, Truro;

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of
46 years, Stanley James “Jim” Nichols; second husband, Lloyd
Marshall; son, Barry; grandson, Barry Jr. (Tracey); brothers, Carl
Roode, Ellis Roode; sisters, Emma Berry, Kathleen Rector, Merna
Marchbank, Evelyn Denniston, Charlotte Barrett
(Marshall).
Private graveside service will be held at a later date in
Belmont Cemetery, Belmont. If so desired, donations in Carol’s memory
to Trinity United Church are welcomed. Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
