The passing of Carol Irene Veysey occurred at Dr. Everett
Chalmer’s Hospital on August 4, 2021. She was 68. Born October 24,
1952 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late
Donald L. (Mike) Veysey and Mariam (MacLean) Veysey. She is survived
by her daughter Aimee Trafton (Ken); granddaughter Amber Carol
Trafton; brother Donald P. Veysey (Susan); sisters Diana Veysey
Thompson (Steve); Joyce Patterson (Wilson); Margaret Nazar (Dennis);
several nieces and nephews; and life-long best friend Barbara Baird
Filliter. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her
beloved son Donald R. (Robbie) Davis.
Carol loved reading, crossword puzzles, writing
poetry, music (especially opera and Pavarotti), and was a beautiful
singer, having sung in her high-school Glee club, church choirs and
barbershop groups. She spent much of her career in retail, most
notably Sears Canada. Her greatest joy was spending time with
family, especially her only grandchild Amber, the light of her
life. She is also a former member of St. Paul’s United Church
and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4.
A visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home on Monday,
August 16 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life
service at 1:00 p.m. After the service will be a reception at
Bishop’s, followed by internment at Sunny Bank
Cemetery.
Donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 or another
charity of the donor’s choice are much appreciated. Special thanks to
the ER, ICU and Palliative Care teams at the Dr. Everett Chalmer’s
Hospital for providing much-needed comfort and support to Carol and
her family during the last days of her life.
Bishop’s Funeral Home have been entrusted with the
