Carl Dempsey 19562021

Carl Dempsey
1956-2021
Carl Dempsey passed away
peacefully at home, right where he wanted to be on Thursday December
2nd 2021. Laughing, cracking jokes, being his sneaky self with his
partner in crime, just as he’s always
been.
His loving wife of 37 years Burla Dempsey
(Berry), held his hand to the very end. All for the love of
sunshine by Hank Williams Junior was a song dad shared that
represented the love he had for his wife. Have a listen and think of
their love so deep that the “Lord
smiled down on this life of mine and sent me the love of
sunshine” absolutely beautiful.
Dying in the arms of a woman who loves me was all he wished for and
mom made his wishes come true. In fact he died in the arms of three
women who loved him so as far as leaving us is concerned, he left in
the most loving peaceful way we could ask
for.
Father to Ben Dempsey (Keri), Mary Canning, Grace
Dunn (Roger), Tanya Dempsey, Amanda Canning (Brett), Chandra Dempsey
(Jean-Francois), Cynthia Vienneau
(Joey).
Grandfather to: Sonya, Rebecca, Samantha, Cody,
Cassandra, Dominick, Jasmine, Caileigh, Sarah, Riley, Lara, Lucy and
great grandfather to many more.
Survived by his siblings Gail Steeves (Donnie),
Edward Baskin, Donna Guthro (Tony), James Baskin, Dale
Baskin
Predeceased by his brother Jeffrey (Herbie)
Baskin and Mother (Mildred Dempsey)
Our father was a jack of all trades and was
always working on renovation projects at home. Most recently retired
from Triangle Kitchens he also worked for many years in the paving and
carpentry industry.
In his final years he found a love for gardening
and in his last days he would talk about the 3 sisters (corn, beans
and squash, look it up it’s a thing). He found a new hobby
in painting and admired the abilities of Bob Ross and other artists
that he was learning from.
In Dad’s own words the night before he
passed, he said:
“It wasn’t
a big life, but it was something. I could have done better but it
would have cost more. Right now we are just happy to be alive and be
thought of actually.”
To everyone who has reached out, Thank you for
the support.
A huge thank you to the staff at the Moncton
Hospital and the phenomenal extra mural program that supported us
through dad’s final journey.
Dad has prepared for his own Irish Wake to
celebrate his life with everyone. Please contact his
immediate family for information.
Arrangements are in the care
