Captain John’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Capt. John Frederick Walter Chaffey announces his sudden passing on July 15, 2021 aged 69 years.
John leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Ruth; sons, John (Melissa Anthony), Adam (Melissa Clarke); grandchildren, Parker, Olivia, Trinity, Alexander, Andrew; siblings, Shirley(Roy) Hodder, Bernard (Marion) Chaffey, Joan (Francis) Reid, Doreen (Terry Pelley) Chaffey, Elizabeth Chaffey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Nathan (Joan) Hoffe, Michael (Gillian) Hoffe, Nancy (Murray) Parmiter; plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
John was predeceased by his parents, Fred & Elsie Chaffey.
Public visitation will take place Monday, July 19, 2021 at 2-9 pm from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
Funeral service will take place Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 2 pm from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Lewisporte, NL. Cremation to follow with interment to take place at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Kid’s Eat Smart Program, Janeway Children’s Hospital, or Notre Dame Snowmobile Association.
