Cameron Craig Johannson
April 26, 1954 – September 17, 2021
With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Cam Johannson. Cam was born the youngest of three boys in 1954 to Esther (nee Fisher) and Bjorn “Barney” Johannson, in New Westminster, BC.
Cam’s career with the Sheriff Services began in Burnaby, BC in 1981. His 34-year career took him around the Lower Mainland and into the Okanagan, where he eventually retired. Cam’s career was a source of great pride to him.
Anybody who knew Cam will remember him as gregarious and outgoing. His resilient and steadfast nature made him incredibly loyal to the people he loved, and no one that counted Cam as a friend would ever have to ask twice for a helping hand.
Cam is survived by his wife Norma; brother Wade (Gail); children Jeffrey (Eleni) and Danielle (Shane); sister-in-law Gladys; brother-in-law Fred (Janice); and sister-in law Lynne (the evil twin). He is also survived by his five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Cam was predeceased by his parents and brother David. He will be sorely missed by his many dear friends and numerous golf buddies.
Due to Covid concerns, there will be no service at this time. A gathering in his honour is being planned for spring/summer 2022.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Cam’s name to an animal charity of your choosing, and give your dog a hug for him.
