Obituary For Caitlin Kris Wageman
With great sadness and profound love, the family of Caitlin Kris Wageman announces her passing on July 3, 2021. Caitlin passed away peacefully at home after just 25 years on this earth.
Caitlin had a vibrant personality, and her unique sparkle touched the hearts of all those who had the pleasure of meeting her. As a redhead, she was opinionated, outspoken, and feisty at times, but she was also incredibly loving. She was a caretaker by nature and always wanted to care for those around her despite her physical limitations.
Caitlin liked to explore. She enjoyed going to Mud Boggs and Zoos and riding all the rides on the Midway. She was active with PARDS until about 10 years ago when her disability progressed to a point where she could no longer ride. Caitlin also loved music, especially Celine Dion. She could be heard belting out, “My Heart Will Go On” as often as she could. She was funny, and loved to have fun.
In 2012, Caitlin had her wish granted by the Make a Wish Foundation and got to meet her idol, Justin Bieber. She was thrilled to have Justin “tattoo” the leg of her beloved doll – which was also named Justin for a time. Her doll traveled with her everywhere and she loved to buy real baby clothing and accessories for it. She was also able to meet Amber Marshall (Amy from Heartland) and had her tattoo the other leg.
We will miss Caitlin dearly. There is a hole in our hearts left by her passing, but we are comforted that she is no longer in pain.
Caitlin is survived by her mother Anna, father Warren, brother Brennen; grandparents Loreen and Wayne, grandmother Janice Patterson; aunts Krysta, Lorinda, Phyllis, and Grace; uncle Gerald; as well as her beloved Educational Assistant Lisa Boyd.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
We would like to extend a big thank you to all those who have shown their love and support throughout the years. Especially to her teachers and educational assistants at Crystal Park School who made her experience there exceptional.
Memorial donations may be made to the Peace Area Riding for the Disabled Society (PARDS) – 710009 RR 55, County of Grande Prairie No.1, AB T8W 5A7 or at pards.ca/ways-to-give.
