Obituary of Bruna Norma Tommasini
Bruna Norma (nee Sain) Tommasini
“You have greatly encouraged me and made me happy” 2 Corinthians 7:4
Our beloved Mother passed into the Arms of Her Saviour Jesus at home in her 91st year on November 21, 2021. Survived by her Daughters Susan (Daniel) Plouffe, Anna (David) Smith, her Son Dr. Robert Tommasini and Mark.
Loving Grandmother of Lisa, Michelle (Rick) and Andrea (Daniel). Great Grandmother of Ben, Jaxson, Zoey, Victor, Samuel, Alyssa and Ricky. Great Great Grandmother of Victoria and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Victor Tommasini and Sister Nerina Tomasini.
Bruna has a rich history, immigrating to Canada from Trieste, Italy following persecution from World War 2. She began to work at the Collingwood Marine Hospital upon arrival to Canada and became a Nursing Assistant for Paramed Services.
For many years she enjoyed working at Grand & Toy in St. Catharines, Ontario. She loved children and in her retirement years became a Nanny for the Miller family of Orillia caring for their daughter Lindsay. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed planting her vegetable garden with her little pugs following her. Her garden was beautiful with so many varieties of flowers.
Most of all Bruna deeply lived her faith in Christ and as an example to many who touched her life. Daily she would pray for every individual and family member she knew as she read her Bible. She deeply loved her Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She fought a courageous battle against her illness and cherished the time with her family who surrounded her with love until she went to be home with Jesus. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
We would like to thank Dr. Annie Hum for her years of dedication and skill in caring for our mother. Sapna Kumar PSW, gently and skillfully cared for our mother for years and during her illness. She will always be part of our family.
Our thanks to Hospice Niagara, March of Dimes and staff, Andrea Kamerman, Pam LeDeux, Lisa B., Nurses Cheryl, Nicole, Emma, Shania and Krista for their care for our mother. We are grateful to the PSW’s from Bayshore for their care.
Covid-19 Protocols will be followed including the wearing of masks. Friends and Family will be received at TALLMAN FUNERAL HOME (3277 King Street, Vineland) on Tuesday November 30, 2021. Visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm in Chapel and Burial Service at Lakeshore Cemetery in Niagara on the Lake at 2:30 PM.
