Obituary of Bruce Mitchell
Mitchell, Bruce (brother, uncle)
Bruce passed away in Perth hospital on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at the age of 68 years. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Joan Mitchell and brother Brian Mitchell. Bruce was the loved brother of his siblings Rodney (Heidi Tonn) Mitchell and Robyn (Gary) McTavish. He will be missed by his nieces Victoria Mitchell (Steve), Heather McTavish (David), Kathleen McTavish (Shayne) and nephew William McTavish (Allyce).
He cared deeply for his nieces and nephew. Bruce made a wicked rhubarb pie that many of us enjoyed during big family suppers. Bruce loved observing and documenting all forms of nature. He was a taxi owner/operator for years in West end Ottawa and would spend his waiting time in various places along the greenbelt in order to watch and video the creatures that lived there and would share stories with his fares.
In this, the year of Covid, if you are able and/or willing, a donation may be made to the following organizations in Bruce’s memory: Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, P.O. Box 266, North Gower, ON K0A 2T0: www.rideauwildlife.org. or the Canadian Wildlife Federation, 350 Michael Cowpland Dr, Kanata, ON K2M 2W1 www.cwf-fcf.org/en/ Arrangements are being held privately in the care of Blair & Son Funeral Directors, Perth.
